School Story:
The Cordova Lancers back in the 1970s were well known for their football and baseball teams.
One of my favorite stories was after our last football game of 1973, when maybe one of the strongest football teams Cordova ever fielded lost in a mud fest to Vacaville. One of the seniors from that season tearfully shared that if that team could not win the championship, no team from Cordova probably ever would.
At that moment, so many of us juniors took that as a challenge. Most of us were backups to arguably the best athletes Cordova could field.
But that challenge lasted throughout that year, into the summer, and throughout that 1974 football season.
I am so grateful for wonderful team mates, coaches and an awesome school and class of 1975!
